Beauty Burnout!

Ahh, the dreaded beauty burnout. The days we feel our skin is too blotchy, our hair is too frizzy and we don’t have a kind thing to say to ourselves in the mirror. We scour the web for the newest products and remedies then find ourselves scrolling endlessly for inspiration to fill a void in a place that is completely devoid of what we actually need: self love.
With the constantly evolving trends in the beauty world, it’s easy to feel like you’ve been left behind. We wonder, “Are my pants too skinny? Is my hair parted too far left? Does my signature eyeliner look seem outdated?” We seem to struggle to ask ourselves, “What makes ME feel good?” The most beautiful thing we can do is feel confident in our individuality. You have so many unique qualities that the world is waiting to see. A dark lipstick that rocks your world? Dope! A clip that makes the hair around your face fall just right? It sure does, because I noticed, too! Standing out from the crowd by allowing your uniqueness to shine through is the most attractive you can do!
So what do we do to banish the beauty burnout? Make a point of reconnecting by disconnecting. When we're inundated with influencers, we tend to lose sight of what makes us happy and expressing ourselves in our own unique ways that make us feel beautiful. Here are a few ideas to help us feel better:
Make self-care a priority. Whether it's updating your exercise routine, having a consistent sleep schedule, eating better, or face masks and bubble baths. Even small changes can make a huge difference!
Surround yourself with positivity. It's never been easier to get caught up in toxic people and situations.
Focus on your strengths. This one is tricky. It's easy to feel like our strengths are overshadowed by our flaws making it hard to identify them. Give yourself some grace and list a few things you're good at/like about yourself.
Gratitude. Having gratitude for the every day things can help change our perspective for the better.
Make a change. Switch up your hairstyle or try a fun makeup look. Sometimes, feeling good on the outside can give us a confidence boost and put us in the right mindset to make positive changes. Seek out a professional hair or makeup artist for guidance on what looks and styles work best for you.
Remember, any movement is better than none at all!
Stay well.
